We urgently need a Reload button. Some changes in the HTML and all changes in CSS files are made on a text editor. Then, we need to go back to Typemetal and be able to refresh the open document.

TypeMetal monitors the CSS and image resource files that an HTML file references, and attempts to refresh those resources when it detects changes. Are you seeing a case where the document display in TypeMetal does not automatically update to show those changes? If you’re able to provide an example HTML file for which this occurs, that would be most helpful. (Please email it to support at coherencelabs.com — thanks!)

Likewise, if the HTML file itself is changed by another process, TypeMetal does attempt to load the changes, if no unsaved changes have been made in the open TypeMetal document. If you aren’t seeing TypeMetal’s document window update its contents under those conditions, that’s a bug I’d love to fix. (Sample file likewise much appreciated.) Note that relying on this behavior can be a bit risky, though. There is currently no good mechanism for TypeMetal to be able to safely coordinate editing of a file with another app, and we don’t ever want to get into a situation where the HTML file has been changed by another app but there are also unsaved changes in TypeMetal. To guard against loss of valuable work, the safest practice for now is to close the HTML file in TypeMetal before performing edits using another app. When ready to resume work on the file in TypeMetal, you can find it using the “File” menu’s “Open Recent” list.

I hope this helps. Please do email support with sample files or any other clues you can provide. If some aspect of this is not working correctly, I’d love to figure it out and fix the problem.

    Regards and Thanks,
    Troy
