How does one remove a WordPress blog from TypeMetal? I didn’t find any information in the help pages. Thanks, Jim

    Hi James,

There isn’t a provision for removing blogs in the current version (sorry!). It can be done, however, if you’re willing to find the blog project files and remove them. (Quit TypeMetal first.)

TypeMetal keeps WordPress blog projects in:

    ~/Library/Containers/com.CoherenceLabs.TypeMetal/Data/Library/Application Support/com.CoherenceLabs.TypeMetal/CMSAccounts/

There, you will see folders named “WordPress Account”, “WordPress Account 2”, and so on. By opening the “blogs” folder within an account folder, you can find the account’s blog file(s), which are named to match the blogs’ titles. When you’ve identified the blog you want to delete, drag the enclosing “WordPress Account…” folder to the Trash.

Hold down [Option] when you relaunch TypeMetal, to get it to purge indexes and regenerate its “known blogs” list. The removed blog should no longer appear in TypeMetal’s “Blogging” menu.

Hope this helps! Sorry it’s not simpler at present!

    Troy,

I appreciate the quick response and, of course, the information. I’ve just started using TypeMetal and made the mistake of adding a couple of blogs *twice*; so I needed a way to remove them so I could start over. So far, so good.

Cheers,

Glad that helped & sorry a workaround is needed! A fix is in development.

    Thanks,

    Hi James,

I’m happy to report that this has been fixed in TypeMetal 2.0.2, just released on the App Store. To remove a blog from TypeMetal’s “Blogging” menu, and discard its associated local files (no harm will be inflicted on your remote WordPress site), hold down the [Option] key while browsing TypeMetal’s “Blogging” menu, and choose the appropriate “Remove [Blog Name]” entry from those that appear in the menu. You no longer have to perform the complicated workaround I described above.

I hope this helps! Please let me know if you run into any other problems!

    Thanks!
