    Hi, </p>
<p>When will a trial version of 2.0 be available? I would like to make a decision asap between blogo, marsedit, and typemetal.</p>
<p>I like what I see here, but I need to test the functionality. Even if it’s for a few hrs I’ll be able to tell. Let me know as I need to buy a client asap for the work I do.

Let me clarify, I’m specifically looking at typemetal to work with wordpress sites. I am very interested in the offline writing capabilities, etc.

Is it possible to schedule posts for publication via typemetal? Can I upload to wordpress and designate the pages for future publication, date and time?

    Hi Roberto,

Thanks very much for your interest in TypeMetal! There is a Demo build of TypeMetal 1 that you can download to try out its general HTML editing functionality. I haven’t yet updated the Demo version for TypeMetal 2 (which added WordPress capabilities), but your inquiry has reminded me that I need to do so soon.

TypeMetal 2 does not currently have scheduled publication capabilities. That’s a good idea for a future enhancement. It does, however, provide a unique visual editing experience that I hope you’ll enjoy!

    Regards,
    Troy

We may be able to release a demo build later this week, but I’m not certain yet. The demo build is a separate branch that needs to be brought up to date with 2.0’s features, and this presently requires some manual work and testing. I’m hoping to streamline the process while I’m at it, to enable near-simultaneous release in the future.

Stay tuned to our news and/or Twitter feeds. There will be an announcement on both when a TypeMetal 2 demo build is released.

    Thanks,
    Troy

Sorry for my delayed response — I’ve been busy fixing a critical WordPress sync issue that came up.

I’d like very much to offer a “Demo” version of TypeMetal 2, as soon as time allows. The main thing I need to do is find a good balance between providing a full and meaningful evaluation and guarding against potential piracy. The save-disabled approach I took with TypeMetal 1 doesn’t quite fit. A time-limited trial may be the best answer, but must be implemented with care.

I do greatly appreciate your interest in evaluating TypeMetal, and hope to be able to accommodate your wishes soon!

    Regards,
    Troy

A Demo of v.2 would be awesome. Desk, Blogo and now (I just discovered TypeMetal, it looks nice) all look similar (no offense) and at the same price point. I don’t want to spend $30 and regret my decision and be stuck with a blogging client I dislike.

    Hi,

I followed the link for the demo build – that link is fine – but the download link on that page was not valid.

I wanted to try TypeMetal to see if I can use it as an authoring tool for ePub.

    Best,

    Daniel

By the way – I don’t need this fixed – I bought your app on the app store this morning, but thought you’d like to know.

If you have any pointers of using the app for epub 3 I’d appreciate it. So far my only stumbling block is I have to change the file suffix back and forth between xhtml and html so that I can use HTML5 but save the files as XHTML.

    Hi Daniel!

I don’t have any ePub-specific guidelines to offer, but given that ePub is HTML-based TypeMetal should serve you well for authoring and editing the component files — especially if you set up and use a shared snippet set to help you build the common constructs you use repeatedly. Is the issue you mentioned that your ePub assembly process requires files to have an “.xhtml” extension, but you want to produce your content using HTML5-specific elements and attributes?

Sorry about the broken demo download link, and thanks for the tip! — I’ve fixed it.

Thanks so much for your purchase and support of TypeMetal!

    Regards,
    Troy

The request for a Demo or Trial-Version is from 2014 and every time is “soon” the answer… So the suppport is veeeeery fast.

I think i will search for an alternative. It is too expensive for the risk.
