Creating and Opening HTML Files
To create a new HTML file, choose File → New HTML File, or press Command+N. TypeMetal will create an empty file that uses the default HTML document type and style sheet that are specified in TypeMetal’s “General” settings panel.
To open an existing HTML file, choose File → Open…, or press Command+O. You can also drag any HTML file onto TypeMetal’s app icon in the Dock to open it.
Creating and Opening Snippet Set Files
As you start to explore more advanced TypeMetal features, you may find it useful to create and use “snippet sets”.
To create a new TypeMetal Snippet Set file, choose File → New HTML Snippet Set, or press Command+Shift+N. You can also create a new snippet set file and associate it with an open HTML file in a single step, using the snippet set picker or the File → HTML Snippet Set menu.
To open an existing TypeMetal Snippet Set file, choose File → Open…, or press Command+O. You can also drag any Snippet Set file onto TypeMetal’s app icon in the Dock to open it.
