Our latest update, TypeMetal 2.3, contains a few tweaks to ensure it solidly supports your HTML and WordPress authoring endeavors on Apple’s latest and greatest OS. One particuarly obvious change you’ll notice is that we’ve slightly updated TypeMetal’s app icon to fit in better with the other apps in your Dock:
Another noteworthy change is the move to macOS 10.13 as the minimum requirement to run TypeMetal 2.3 and later. We’ve worked hard to keep TypeMetal compatible with as wide a range of macOS versions as we feasibly can. With Apple’s current developer tools having dropped support for targeting macOS versions prior to 10.13, it was time to reulctantly advance our minimum OS requirement. Supporting macOS 10.13 still takes us back a long way, letting TypeMetal 2.3 run on Macs as old as 2011 models. (We have a couple of them here!) We hope this change in minimum requirements doesn’t cause trouble for any of the loyal TypeMetal users we’re so grateful to have. Please reach out anytime regarding this or any other issues you encounter!

We’ve been living on pre-release Beta builds and exercising features, to make sure everything keeps working smoothly when you update to the latest and greatest macOS. TypeMetal 2.2.6 hit the App Store a couple of weeks ago to touch up some minor appearance issues, and all is looking good for users to take the leap and upgrade to Ventura!
Beginning life as a revolutionary visual HTML editor unlike any other, TypeMetal grew into a fully integrated WordPress publishing app in version 2, while retaining all of its standalone-HTML-file-editing capabilities. Now, the same HTML authoring features that underpinned the writing of TypeMetal’s comprehensive in-app Help pages (mirrored here as the TypeMetal User Guide) are powering brainstorming and feature design write-ups for new features.
I’d like to thank everyone around the world who’s purchased and used TypeMetal and provided valuable encouragement, feedback, and suggestions. Getting to develop this project has been a dream come true, and I’m grateful for your support and tremendously excited about the features and upgrades yet to come!
